The Eastern Conference is represented the NHL's teams from the New England, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Great Lakes regions of the U.S. and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
The ultimate honor in the Eastern Conference is the Prince of Wales Trophy, awarded to the conference's represenative in the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Eastern Conference was preceded by the Prince of Wales Conference and the East Division.
