Shout out to halfcourtheave.com from saving Scott Van Pelt Style from a slow news morning. Authorities in Orlando, Fl investigated at shooting that occurred early this morning at the Orlando home of Washington Wizards guard DeShawn Stevenson. Stevenson, who played for the Orlando Magic from 2003-06 prior to signing with the Washington Wizards, was in the home with three other individuals, including Cleveland Cavaliers forward Brandon Hunter.
The story play out similarly to other stories of athletes in the wrong place with the wrong people. Allegedly, some chicks met up with Stevenson and his friends at a local nightclub, and they all ventured back to Stevenson's home. Unfortunately, the women were followed by an irate gentleman who apparently fired shots after having an altercation with one of the women outside of the home. Stevenson and the rest of his party were in the house at the time of the shooting, and denied shooting any weapons.
It's amazing how trouble comes in bunches for teams. We all know how things went for the Portland Trailblazers a couple of years back, and recently with the Cincinnati Bengals. It's a good thing he DeShawn Stevenson didn't get into DC kind of trouble like our guy Andray Blatche, but gunshots never look good for a player or their franchise.
