Earle Combs (Earle Bryan Combs) was born on May 14, 1899 in Pebworth, Kentucky. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1924 for the New York Yankees. In 1925, his rookie year, he hit .342 with 3 home runs and 61 RBI. Combs played for the New York Yankees for his entire 12 year career.

Most people believe that Earle Combs's best season was 1927, when he hit for a .356 average and knocked in 64 runs.
