Born on October 29, 1888 in Chillicothe, Ohio, Earl Yingling (Earl Hershey Yingling) played for the Cleveland Naps, Brooklyn Superbas, Cincinnati Reds and Washington Senators over the course of his 5 year career. Yingling broke into the bigs on April 12, 1911 with the Cleveland Naps, and put up a 3.59 ERA in 163 innings pitched in 1912, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Earl Yingling's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1914, when he posted a 3.45 ERA and struck out 80 batters. However, others believe that it was 1913, when he posted a 2.58 ERA.
