[edit] Biography

Born on October 2, 1934 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Earl Wilson (Earl Lawrence Wilson) played for the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and San Diego Padres over the course of his 11 year career. Wilson broke into the bigs on July 28, 1959 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 4.71 ERA in 65 innings pitched in 1960, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Earl Wilson's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1967, when he posted a 3.27 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 184 batters. However, others believe that it was 1966, when he posted a 3.07 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 200 batters.
