Earl Sheely (Earl Homer Sheely) was born on February 12, 1893 in Bushnell, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1921 for the Chicago White Sox. In 1921, his rookie year, he hit .304 with 11 home runs and 95 RBI. Sheely played for the Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Braves over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Earl Sheely's best season was 1925, when he hit for a .315 average and knocked in 111 runs.
