Earl Elser (Earl Howard Elser) was born on March 21, 1908 in , IL. After going to high school at Emerson (Gary, IN), Elser attended Butler University. Elser made his professional debut in the NFL in 1933 with the Portsmouth Spartans. He played for the Cincinnati-St. Louis Reds-Gunners and Portsmouth Spartans over the course of his 2 year career.
