Earl Britton (Earl Tanner Britton) was born on July 15, 1903 in Elgin, Illinois. After going to high school at Elgin (IL), Britton attended the University of Illinois. Britton made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Chicago Bears. He played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the Chicago Cardinals, Dayton Triangles, Frankford Yellow Jackets and Chicago Bears over the course of his 4 year NFL career.Britton also played in the AFLG for 1 year, playing for the Brooklyn Horsemen the entire time.
