Eagle Day (Herman Sidney Day) was born on October 2, 1932 in Columbia, Mississippi. After going to high school at Columbia (MS), Day attended the University of Mississippi. Day made his professional debut in the NFL in 1959 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1960 was Eagle Day's best year, as he had a 42 yard punt average.
