I just read on Clemson Tigers that GameDay is coming to Clemson this weekend when the Tigers take on Georgia Tech on Saturday.
I'm really excited for them to come so everyone across the country can see the Clemson tradition and how passionate we are about our football team. This is the first time GameDay will come to Clemson and I am pretty sure that after they are here they will be coming back a lot more with the program on the up and up. Sure I am a little biased towards everything Clemson, but we don't get the same recognition as some of the bigger football schools. However I think we are witnessing a passing of the torch in the ACC back to when the Tigers were a dominant football program throughout the 80's under coach Danny Ford winning their only national championship in 1981.
The setting is going to be great on Bowman Field ( kind of like another schools "quad"). This weekend being homecoming, all the homecoming floats will be on the field which will make for a great and unique setting for people to see. This is great for the program, especially in recruiting. Hopefully this generates some more interest in recruits when they see the fans and the atmosphere that abounds Clemson on football gamedays. It should be a great game, and I cannot wait to be in attendance wearing all orange.
On a side note, some select students were trying to start a "purple out" by wearing all purple like some schools do "black outs" and such. This is ridiculous. Our motto is "Solid Orange, it's about Pride" yet some people want to be different and wear all purple. I think when you see the game, everyone in the stands will be wearing Orange, as it should be.
