ESPN: Who's More Annoying?

17
Vote

by user Justjudith

Who's more annoying? The choices are:

Chris Berman

Stephen A. Smith

Stuart Scott

Sean Salisbury

Jim Rome

All of The Sports Reporters

For me -- I'm going with all of The Sports Reporters, especially Mike Lupica. Followed closely by Chris Berman and Sean Salisbury.

I don't mind Salisbury at all, and I happen to enjoy Around the Horn, minus Mariotti. Jim Rome and Stephen A. probably come in a tie on my list, Stephen A. because he can't seem to control the volume of his voice and Rome because he pauses forever after he thinks he's said something monumental, like he's letting it sink in.

Sean Salisbury knows less about football than my index finger...i mean, i know he was a great quarterback in all, but is it that hard to find another washed up QB to talk football everyday...is joe theisman no longer available?...seriously...where the hell did steve young go?!

Jim Rome might be the biggest hack in the business. Mike Lupica is a solid choice behind that, and Mariotti is just a given for this list.

Jim Rome is a no talent, psuedo sports nut who knows nada about anything other than baseball. I find it hard to hide my disdain for that guy. My biggest regret in 20+ years of watching ESPN is that Jim Everett didn't beat the piss outta Rome when he had the chance.

sean salisbury annoys me bc of his "fights" with john clayton. he comes off as such a know it all. and mike lupica is obsessed with the yankees. he will go out of his way to make something relevant to the yankees. i'm ok with the yankees but they're not the beginning and end of every baseball conversation.

I actually like the Sports Reporters. They might be annoying, but I can stomach them, because at least they know what they're talking about. Stephen A. Smith is annoying AND has no idea what he's talking about. But, I have to say Jim Rome is the most annoying, for the same reason I find Mark Cuban annoying - nobody who hasn't played played pro sports should talk that much smack. It's just stupid.

I would have to say Chris Berman. Sometimes, when I'm watching NFL Countdown I'm screaming "Shut up" at the TV because Berman goes on and on and on before he finally asks a question. Then on top of that, he asked Frank Caliendo not to do an impression of him because he didn't want to compromise the NFL coverage. WTF?!?! I'm glad he doesn't take himself so seriously.

Anyone can bitch about stuff - give me posts that make me think...As for ripping ESPN in order to create something better... figure out what they do right and do it better... you don't make a better mousetrap by breaking the existing mousetraps.

LEAVE CHRIS BERMAN AND STEPHEN A SMITH ALONE!!! The most annoying analyst by far is Jim Rome. "Jim Rome is Burning", Well it's time to put out the fire on his show. Fox Sports gave him the boot and its only a matter of time before ESPN does the same. Why else would his show begin in the daytime? He is cocky and only bases his opinions on how entertained he is. His show is not entertainment. Now Jim Rome being pummeled by Jim Everett on the other hand.......

Chris Berman rocks. Hard for me to hate him. I like Stephen A. too because he speaks with such conviction. I listen to the Jim Rome show when I can so I don't hate him, he's just a bit too negative towards everything.

The most annoying by far is Sean Salisbury. Give me a freakin break. He was a vikings QB and I still hate that piece of crap.

If you really want good sports talk radio tune into fox sports radio on the night shift. JT the Brick and Tom Looney are the best in the game in my opinion. If you haven't heard JT yet then you seriously need to try to tune in.

I don't think Stuart Scott should be on this list. He's one of the few guys who really made SportCenter special who hasn't turned completely annoying. Berman's a jackass, Dan Patrick sounds like a prosecuting attorney in his interviews, Keith Oberman has a huge ego and Kenny Mayne has turned into Bobo the clown. Stu's the only one who's held my respect over all these years.
