ESPN's Worst........College Basketball Analyst

18
Vote

by SSreporters

Whether it's Big Monday, Fat Tuesday, Duke Wednesday through Sunday, it's time for ESPN's Worst. Who is the worst College Basketball personality?

My Entry: Jay Bilas. Actual Quote: "He's not a great shooter, but he can make shots."--Referring to Acie Law after being drafted by the Atlanta Hawks.

Yeah, its Bilas... Vitale might be a jackass, but he's not all stupid...

I disagree with that completly. I think Vitele is like Berman in football. He once was a good announcer, but he has lost his touch in his old age.

I don't care what anyone says about Jay Bilas, he is the best looking on-air personality at ESPN. He has his brain farts, but he's better than some of the baseball analysts (cough Joe Morgan John Kruk cough). Overall, I think college basketball coverage is pretty strong on ESPN. It's weird though, you have Vitale and Raftery and McDonough, all of these guys who are so easily excited, and then there's Len Elmore. That man is a bore.

Check that, MALE on-air personality. God forbid I forget Erin Andrews.

Coverage of the Carolina schools are pretty strong for ESPN. They don't really give a rat's @$$ about anyone else besides North Carolina and Duke.

Bilias is a pain in the ass and a complete Dukie homer. Its painful to watch his broadcast. I think I can say this for anyone who is an ACC fan. ESPN is flatout painful to watch during basketball season cause they slurp UNC and Duke's jockstrap so much.

Gotta be Bilas. It's a mystery to me how that has not only kept his job at ESPN, but he is their #1 H.S./college analyst and gets to work the draft every year, despite the fact that his analysis is always lacking and he doesn't seem to know any more about the game than most hardcore fans. I guess Dicky V's Duke love affair extends pretty far up at ESPN.

He is a terrible college scout. I have no idea why ESPN using him on draft night.

You actually still pay attention to the analysts? I learned to tune them out years ago.

Bilas is much better at basketball than Kruk or Phillips at baseball, or Salisbury steak at football so lets lay off him.

Rick Majerus anybody? I remember when he told us that he was a "Big Gay Guy!" in referance to UConn forward Rudy Gay. Steve Lavin may be even worse though.

I'm not a big fan of Lavin myself, but maybe that's my bias as a UCLA fan! Other than that, I'd say I enjoy Len Elmore the least... I mean, he's not bad, but he sounds like he's about to fall asleep.

I don't agree with this post at all: whatever happened to Duke Monday and Duke Tuesday?

HAHA, Good Point. That's usually the time when there are less important games.

Raftery gets my vote. He gets excited at completely odd times.

Dick Vitale hands down. I wish I could make a career out of yelling in a funny voice and repeating the same tired catch phrases over and over again. Then again, isn't that what sportscenter anchors do these days?
