Dutch Strauss (J. Arthur Strauss) was born on January 7, 1897 in Hennessey, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Bluff City (KS) and Enid (OK), Strauss attended Phillips Community College. Strauss made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Toledo Maroons. He played for the Kansas City Blues and Toledo Maroons over the course of his 2 year career.
