Dutch Miller (John Robert Miller) was born on February 23, 1906 in Dover, Ohio. After going to high school at Dover (OH), Miller attended Wittenberg University. Miller made his professional debut in the NFL in 1931 with the Portsmouth Spartans. He played for the Portsmouth Spartans for his entire 1 year career.
