Dutch Meyer (Lambert Daniel Meyer) was born on October 6, 1915 in Waco, Texas. He made his Major League debut on June 23, 1937 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1941, his rookie year, he hit .190 with 1 home run and 14 RBI. Meyer played for the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that Dutch Meyer's best season was 1945, when he hit for a .292 average.
