Dusty Cooke (Allen Lindsey Cooke) was born on June 23, 1907 in Swepsonville, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1930 for the New York Yankees. In 1930, his rookie year, he hit .255 with 6 home runs and 29 RBI. Cooke played for the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Dusty Cooke's best season was 1933, when he hit for a .293 average and knocked in 54 runs.
