[edit] Scouting Report
Pedroia did not play well upon joining the Red Sox for a late cup of coffee, OPSing just .561 in 89 ABs. However, he posted solid OBP's throughout his minor-league career, suggesting that he has the patience to be a real factor down the road. A wrist injury robbed him of his power last year, but he slugged .508 in Portland two years ago, and .523 at Sarasota, so he does have some pop. His fielding has been solid as well, and he may well blossom into a quality middle infielder before long. In fact, with the departure of Mark Loretta, the Red Sox are counting on it.
