Duke Maas

Born on January 31, 1929 in Utica, Michigan, Duke Maas (Duane Frederick Maas) played for the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 7 year career. Maas broke into the bigs on April 21, 1955 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.88 ERA in 86.2 innings pitched in 1955, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Duke Maas's best season was 1957, when he posted a 3.28 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 116 batters.
