Born on May 28, 1964 in Park View, New Mexico, Duane Ward (Roy Duane Ward) played for the Toronto Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 9 year career. Ward broke into the bigs on April 12, 1986 with the Toronto Blue Jays, and put up a 3.30 ERA in 111.2 innings pitched in 1988, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Duane Ward's best season was 1993, when he posted a 2.13 ERA, notched 45 saves and struck out 97 batters.
