Born on September 15, 1966 in Bakersfield, California, Doug Simons (Douglas Eugene Simons) played for the New York Mets and Montreal Expos over the course of his 2 year career. Simons broke into the bigs on April 9, 1991 with the New York Mets, and put up a 5.19 ERA in 60.2 innings pitched in 1991, his rookie year.
