Born on December 15, 1948 in Columbus, Texas, Doug Rau (Douglas James Rau) played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and California Angels over the course of his 9 year career. Rau broke into the bigs on September 2, 1972 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and put up a 3.96 ERA in 63.2 innings pitched in 1973, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Doug Rau's best season was 1975, when he posted a 3.11 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 151 batters.
