Doug Plank (Douglas Walter Plank) was born on March 4, 1953 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Norwin (Irwin, PA), Plank attended Ohio State University. Plank made his professional debut in the NFL in 1975 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Chicago Bears for his entire 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1976 was Doug Plank's best year, as he picked off 4 passes and recovered 4 opponents fumbles.
