Born on June 24, 1957 in Covina, California, Doug Jones (Douglas Reid Jones) played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Indians, Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 16 year career. Jones broke into the bigs on April 9, 1982 with the Milwaukee Brewers, and put up a 3.15 ERA in 91.1 innings pitched in 1987, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Doug Jones's best season was 1992, when he posted a 1.85 ERA, won 11 games, notched 36 saves and struck out 93 batters.
