Doug Flynn (Robert Douglas Flynn) was born on April 18, 1951 in Lexington, Kentucky. He made his Major League debut on April 9, 1975 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1976, his rookie year, he hit .283 with 1 home run and 20 RBI. Flynn played for the Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Montreal Expos and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Doug Flynn's best season was 1979, when he knocked in 61 runs.
