Doug Eggers (Douglas Boyd Eggers) was born on September 21, 1930 in Wagner, South Dakota. After going to high school at Wagner (SD), Eggers attended South Dakota State University. Eggers made his professional debut in the NFL in 1954 with the Baltimore Colts. He played for the Baltimore Colts and Chicago Cardinals over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1954 was Doug Eggers's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
