Born on July 5, 1970 in West Palm Beach, Florida, Doug Bochtler (Douglas Eugene Bochtler) played for the San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 6 year career. Bochtler broke into the bigs on May 5, 1995 with the San Diego Padres, and put up a 3.02 ERA in 65.2 innings pitched in 1996, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Doug Bochtler's best season was 1996, when he posted a 3.02 ERA and struck out 68 batters.
