Doug Adams (Douglas O. Adams) was born on November 3, 1949 in Xenia, Ohio. After going to high school at Xenia (OH), Adams attended Ohio State University. Adams made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played for the Cincinnati Bengals for his entire 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1972 was Doug Adams's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
