Double Header on Monday Night

Once again, the NFL has scheduled two games for the very first Monday night of the season. I love this idea. It's great to just sit at home after a day of work, school or whatever.. and watch football. And tonight, we should see a couple of pretty good games.
Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals
- It's not a secret to anyone that the Ravens have one of the better defenses in the NFL. Terrell Suggs, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, the list goes on. They did lose Adalius Thomas, so we'll see how that plays out. Cincinnati has a well-rounded offense. Carson Palmer, a top 5 quarterback in the league, with Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmanzadeh at receiver. However, last season, Baltimore ranked 4th best against the pass, and 1st against the rush. Cincinnati will simply have to make plays, or else they won't stand a chance. Willis McGahee will most likely get a lot of touches on offense for the Ravens.
Prediction: Baltimore 27, Cincinnati 17
Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers
- When people think of these two teams, they think of bad seasons. Well, as the years go on, these two NFC West teams slowly continue to develop. They both have two very talented young QB's: Matt Leinart for Arizona, and Alex Smith for San Fran. I think what this game may come down to, is the offense. Edgerrin James and Frank Gore on the ground will both probably have 100 yard games, and so whatever quarterback is best able to move their offense and score points should win the game. With Leinart having Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin, I think he may have the edge.
Prediction: Arizona 30, San Francisco 21
Now, in other news..
- For all you fantasy folks out there, Brandon Jacobs will miss 3 to 5 weeks with a knee injury. Hopefully you have a back-up that can fill in for him when he is gone.. or, you could pick-up the Giants back-up Derrick Ward.
- In some more serious news, Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett will spend 1-2 days under sedation, as doctors examine the severity of his spinal injury. It could potentially leave him paralyzed. In addition, the Bills lost Ko Simpson and Jason Webster both to broken bones on Sunday.
