Dooley Womack

Born on August 25, 1939 in Columbia, South Carolina, Dooley Womack (Horace Guy Womack) played for the New York Yankees, Seattle Pilots, Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 5 year career. Womack broke into the bigs on April 14, 1966 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 2.64 ERA in 75 innings pitched in 1966, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Dooley Womack's best season was 1967, when he posted a 2.41 ERA, notched 18 saves and struck out 57 batters.
