Donnie Elder (Donald Eugene Elder) was born on December 13, 1963 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After going to high school at Brainderd (Chattanooga, TN), Elder attended the University of Memphis. Elder made his professional debut in the NFL in 1985 with the New York Jets. He played for the San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1988 was Donnie Elder's best year, as he picked off 3 passes and had 772 kick return yards.
