Donn Clendenon (Donn Alvin Clendenon) was born on July 15, 1935 in Neosho, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on September 22, 1961 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1962, his rookie year, he hit .302 with 7 home runs and 28 RBI. Clendenon played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets, Montreal Expos and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 12 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Donn Clendenon's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1966, when he slugged 28 home runs, hit for a .299 average and knocked in 98 runs. However, others believe that it was 1965, when he hit for a .301 average and knocked in 96 runs.
