Don Johnson (Donald Spore Johnson) was born on December 7, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on September 26, 1943 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1944, his rookie year, he hit .278 with 2 home runs and 71 RBI. Johnson played for the Chicago Cubs for his entire 6 year career.
There is some disagreement on what was Don Johnson's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1944, when he hit for a .278 average and knocked in 71 runs. However, others believe that it was 1945, when he hit for a .302 average and knocked in 58 runs.
