Born on November 12, 1926 in Portland, Oregon, Don Johnson (Donald Roy Johnson) played for the New York Yankees, St. Louis Browns, Washington Senators, Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 7 year career. Johnson broke into the bigs on April 20, 1947 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 3.64 ERA in 54.1 innings pitched in 1947, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Don Johnson's best season was 1954, when he posted a 3.12 ERA and struck out 68 batters.
