Born on February 12, 1951 in DuQuoin, Illinois, Don Stanhouse (Donald Joseph Stanhouse) played for the Texas Rangers, Montreal Expos, Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of his 10 year career. Stanhouse broke into the bigs on April 19, 1972 with the Texas Rangers, and put up a 3.78 ERA in 104.2 innings pitched in 1972, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Don Stanhouse's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1978, when he posted a 2.89 ERA and notched 24 saves. However, others believe that it was 1979, when he posted a 2.85 ERA and notched 21 saves.
