Born on March 2, 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Don Schwall (Donald Bernard Schwall) played for the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 7 year career. Schwall broke into the bigs on May 21, 1961 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 3.22 ERA in 178.2 innings pitched in 1961, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Don Schwall's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1961, when he posted a 3.22 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 91 batters. However, others believe that it was 1965, when he posted a 2.92 ERA and struck out 55 batters.
