Don Samuel (Donald Allen Samuel) was born on February 16, 1924 in Hood River, Oregon. After going to high school at Hood River (OR), Samuel attended Oregon State University. Samuel made his professional debut in the NFL in 1949 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1949 was Don Samuel's best year.
