Don Padgett (Don Wilson Padgett) was born on December 5, 1911 in Caroleen, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 23, 1937 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1937, his rookie year, he hit .314 with 10 home runs and 74 RBI. Padgett played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Braves and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Don Padgett's best season was 1937, when he hit for a .314 average and knocked in 74 runs.
