Don Maynard (Donald Maynard) was born on January 25, 1936 in Crosbyton, Texas. After going to high school at Colorado City (TX), Maynard attended Rice University and the University of Texas-El Paso. Maynard made his professional debut in the NFL in 1958 with the New York Giants. He played in the NFL for 5 years, playing for the New York Jets, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Giants over the course of his 5 year NFL career.Maynard also played in the AFL for 10 years, playing for the New York Jets and New York Titans over the course of his 10 year AFL career.

Most people believe that 1965 was Don Maynard's best year, as he hauled in 68 receptions, had 1218 receiving yards and caught 14 TD passes.
