Don Looney (Joe Donald Looney) was born on September 2, 1917 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Looney attended Texas Christian University. Looney made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his 3 year career.
Most people believe that 1940 was Don Looney's best year, as he hauled in 58 receptions, had 707 receiving yards, caught 4 TD passes and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
