Don Hutson (Donald Montgomery Hutson) was born on January 31, 1913 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. After going to high school at Pine Bluff (AR), Hutson attended the University of Alabama. Hutson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1935 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Green Bay Packers for his entire 11 year career.

Most people believe that 1942 was Don Hutson's best year, as he hauled in 74 receptions, had 1211 receiving yards, caught 17 TD passes and picked off 7 passes. Many people believe this to be the greatest receiving season ever. Projected over a 16-game schedule, Hutson would have caught 108 passes for 1,761 yards and 25 TDs in 1942. An era without defensive pass interference penalties.
