Born on September 15, 1949 in Lynwood, California, Don Carrithers (Donald George Carrithers) played for the San Francisco Giants, Montreal Expos and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 8 year career. Carrithers broke into the bigs on August 1, 1970 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 4.03 ERA in 80.1 innings pitched in 1971, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Don Carrithers's best season was 1974, when he posted a 3.00 ERA.
