Don Blasingame (Don Lee Blasingame) was born on March 16, 1932 in Corinth, Mississippi. He made his Major League debut on September 20, 1955 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1956, his rookie year, he hit .261 with 0 home runs and 27 RBI. Blasingame played for the St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Senators and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Don Blasingame's best season was 1957, when he knocked in 58 runs.
