Does the ranking matters for the World Cup 2007

I don't think so. We have seen that the latest tournaments the ranking didn't matter a lot for the winning teams. With the help from B/caps, South Africa became number 1 in the ICC ODI ranking. Having said that they won almost all the matches they played at home land. They may be balling and batting well in the home land, however can they do that outside of their territory.
When they all go to the WC, it is a new ball game. They have 9 games in total before they gets to the semi finals. Therefore one could say it is anyones game. Indian claim that the pitches suits them very well. However I am not sure that will be true. Therefore I say forget your ranking and concentrate on the game in WC and those who adopt to the weather and pitches sooner than others will win the cup. There are other discussions going on at http://www.familyblogg.com/?cat=7, have a look when you have some time.
