Doctors Delay Drew

Apparently a medical issue has delayed the official announcement of J.D. Drew's signing by the Boston Red Sox. While the team and the player agreed to the five-year, $70 million deal more than two weeks ago at the winter meetings, it has not been officially announced by the parties involved as of today, December 18th.
It would seem that the physical that the Red Sox (and most major league teams) require all newly-signed players to undergo picked up a problem with Drew, who has missed more than 200 games over the course of his nine-year MLB career due to injury.
What impact the problem might have on the deal is unknown at this point. The Red Sox, Drew, and his agent Scott Boras have all remained silent on the medical issue as Drew gets a second opinion.
