Doc Prothro

Doc Prothro (James Thompson Prothro) was born on July 16, 1893 in Memphis, Tennessee. He made his Major League debut on September 26, 1920 for the Washington Senators. In 1924, his rookie year, he hit .333 with 0 home runs and 24 RBI. Prothro played for the Washington Senators, Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that Doc Prothro's best season was 1925, when he hit for a .313 average and knocked in 51 runs.
