Doc Miller (Roy Oscar Miller) was born on February 4, 1883 in Chatham, Ontario (Canada). He made his Major League debut on May 4, 1910 for the Boston Doves. In 1910, his rookie year, he hit .286 with 3 home runs and 55 RBI. Miller played for the Boston Doves, Boston Rustlers, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Braves and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that Doc Miller's best season was 1911, when he stole 32 bases, hit for a .333 average and knocked in 91 runs.
