Born on September 14, 1865 in Piermont, New York, Doc Leitner (George Aloysius Leitner) played for the Indianapolis Hoosiers for his entire 1 year career. Leitner broke into the bigs on August 10, 1887 with the Indianapolis Hoosiers, and put up a 5.68 ERA in 65 innings pitched in 1887, his rookie year.
