Doc Edwards (Howard Rodney Edwards) was born on December 10, 1936 in Red Jacket, West Virginia. He made his Major League debut on April 21, 1962 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1962, his rookie year, he hit .273 with 3 home runs and 9 RBI. Edwards played for the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Athletics, New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 5 year career.
