Doc Cramer (Roger Maxwell Cramer) was born on July 22, 1905 in Beach Haven, New Jersey. He made his Major League debut on September 18, 1929 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1931, his rookie year, he hit .260 with 2 home runs and 20 RBI. Cramer played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 20 year career.

Most people believe that Doc Cramer's best season was 1933, when he hit for a .295 average and knocked in 75 runs.
