Doc Cook (Luther Almus Cook) was born on June 24, 1886 in Witt, Texas. He made his Major League debut on August 7, 1913 for the New York Yankees. In 1914, his rookie year, he hit .283 with 1 home run and 40 RBI. Cook played for the New York Yankees for his entire 4 year career.

Most people believe that Doc Cook's best season was 1915, when he stole 29 bases.
